Neonatal Excellence Awards


Bliss’ Neonatal Excellence Awards recognised and celebrated outstanding individuals, teams and projects that made a difference to babies born premature or sick through delivering high quality family-centred care as part of the Bliss Baby Charter.

Family-centred care places babies and parents at the heart of the care they receive on the neonatal unit, ensuring that parents are empowered and supported to look after their baby in a nurturing environment.

On Monday 12 March 2018, Bliss held the Bliss Baby Charter conference and recognised excellent care through, Bliss’ Neonatal Excellence Awards for outstanding achievements in family-centred care.

The Award categories and winners were:

Parents’ choice - University of North Staffordshire Hospital

This award recognised outstanding health professionals who provided exceptional family-centred care in 2017. 

Project of the Year - Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow

This award recognised a project or initiative that improved outcomes for babies through excellent family-centred care. 

Team of the year - Leeds Centre for Newborn Care

This award recognised a team which demonstrated collaborative working and ambition towards the delivery of family-centred care.
