The Leeds Centre for Newborn Care believes that staff education and mentoring plays a key role on the unit and supports family-centred care. Staff are given dedicated time to deliver parent training sessions as well supported with other educational opportunities in family-centred and family integrated care. The team actively shares best practice and engages with other neonatal units to support them to deliver high-quality care, with families as active partners in the delivery of care.
How does this connect to the Bliss Baby Charter?
The Leeds Centre for Newborn Care has demonstrated that they are invested in supporting their staff to access training and support which is supported by principle 3 of the Bliss Baby Charter. The neonatal unit also offers parents the opportunity participate in the delivery of care which supports principle 5 of the Bliss Baby Charter.
